Bring the Spa Home For the Holidays

Why weather changes can wreak havoc on your skin — here's , what you can do about it.
Just because the season is changing doesn’t mean good skin has to. Like summer, winter comes with new challenges when it comes to taking care of your skin. With the shift to colder temperatures you may be more susceptible to dry skin and flare ups that can easily be resolved with a few simple revisions to your skincare routine.
You still need SPF! Yes the sun may not be showing itself like it does in the warmer months but those harmful UV rays are still present. It is important to continue wearing Vita C Moisturizer with SPF 50 daily. The winter sun does not discriminate!

Stay hydrated. Staying hydrated in all possible forms is necessary to get you through the cold winter months. Keeping up your water intake as well as making sure the air is moist are ways to maintain hydration during these cold months. Investing in a humidifier will moisten the air in your home and keep your skin supple.
Watch that shower temperature. After battling the snowy temperatures at the end of the day you may want to experience warmth in all of its forms. While a steamy shower is great for cleansing especially with the Vita C Cleanser and opening up pores, if the water is too hot it could have a damaging effect. Hot water can scald and further dry out your skin.

Use a hydrating face cream. To reduce or help dryness, a hydrating face cream will soothe the skin. We just launched our own Good Night Beaute Cloud Cream that is filled with hydrating and antioxidant properties.

Your diet & exercise still matters. In the winter season it’s super easy to slip up on the routines that keep us healthy. There’s holiday food and festivities. Then there’s the colder weather that makes us want to curl up and stay in. Eating healthy and making sure to exercise is crucial to maintaining that Good Beauté glow. Making sure to eat foods high in nutrients and keeping the blood flowing is essential to good living.
Cover Up. When the temperature truly starts to drop and the winds get icy cold, make sure you are covering your face in addition to your body. Cold chills are a factor in chapped dry skin.
Self-Care. 2020 has undoubtedly been unforgettable as it’s been full of what feels like loss and negativity. The need for self-care is more important now more than ever. Stress plays a major role in your overall health as well as your skin. Excessive stress could be the secret culprit behind flare ups and rough patches when it comes to your skin at any time of the year. Make a conscious effort to relax.
